Develop your job hunting strategies and network with fellow job-seekers in our exciting line-up of workshops. Most workshops are free, and last approximately two hours. Workshops are open to Career Source members, and pre-registration is required.

Orientation to Services
Career Center Seminar - Overview of available services at Career Source and state resources. Includes helpful job search tips, and networking with fellow job seekers in a small-group meeting. This seminar is especially for unemployment recipients, but all new Career Source members are welcome.
Career Center Seminar Follow-up - One-hour follow-up to the Career Center Seminar. You can choose 1 of 3 workshops: Finding Job Leads, Using the Internet in Your Job Search or Success Team Meeting.
Career Exploration
Career Exploration - What are you most suited to do for a living? This workshop helps you identify a cluster of job titles that reflect your personal preferences, talents and work styles. When your work “fits” you, you are more likely to experience greater satisfaction and success.
Identify Your Ideal Career - Still looking for your ideal job? Not sure what kind of work you're best at doing? Were former jobs not a good match for your talents? Join our five-session career direction group. Next group slated for late winter or early spring- stay tuned!
Job Search & Networking
Job Search - Overview of the entire job search campaign: effective job search strategies, choosing an occupation, marketing yourself, using social networking sites in your job search, making a good impression, and the importance of follow-up.
Networking - Networking is essential to your job hunt. Learn how to network effectively in your job search campaign. Topics include building your network, your 30-second infomercial, informational interviews, and dos and don’ts of networking.
Resume Writing & Interview Skills
Interview With Power - This class focuses on presenting yourself with confidence, and succeeding in the behavioral interview (when an interviewer seeks your responses to various work situations).
Resume Writing & Cover Letters - This workshop will teach you to write a resume to sharpen your edge in a competitive job market. This workshop covers how resumes are organized, format choices, resume dos and don'ts, electronic mailing tips, importance of cover letters, and sample resumes and cover letters.
Social Media Tools
LinkedIn Basics - Learn how to get started on the world's largest professional networking site. This three-hour class consists of instruction in creating your profile and building your network. Includes a step-by-step illustration using a live LinkedIn account, and a demonstration of some powerful job search tools.
LinkedIn Lab - Intermediate - This hands-on workshop will help you navigate LinkedIn features such as Groups, Applications, Answers, Company/People Search, and Settings. Practice multiple networking strategies using your own account. Prerequisites: 100% profile completeness per the LinkedIn indicator, minimum 25 connections. LinkedIn Basics workshop preferred.

How to Talk Best When it Matters Most - Learn skills that reinforce open and honest communication that will empower you professionally and personally.
Salary Negotiation - Do you feel confident that you can negotiate the best salary with prospective employers? This workshop is designed to provide job seekers with the necessary techniques for successful salary negotiation.
Hot Topics
Maturity vs. Age - This workshop teaches mature workers strategies on removing barriers to work. It addresses age discrimination in the workplace, how to dispel stereotypes, and the advantages of maturity. Learn how to tackle the label “overqualified.”
Getting Unstuck - This workshop provides tips to achieve success by eliminating procrastination and other behaviors that prevent you from moving forward in your job search.
